Janet has been a part of our team here at Shoplight for over a year now. Janet has a long background of working in the Civil Service and many of her skills are transferable to Shoplight.
“As my role here at Shoplight includes purchasing, stock management, administration and reception duties, many of the skills required for these duties are similar to those I developed in my previous jobs. I love working with people and the variety of duties I’m undertaking makes the role a very interesting one.”
One thing that has surprised Janet is how much goes in to developing a retail store concept.
“I suppose like most people I tended to take the look and feel of a shop for granted, without ever thinking too much about the massive amount of planning and detail that went in to developing a concept, brand and interior. In particular I’ve realised lighting in retail stores is generally only noticed when it is poor and that it isn’t consciously noted when its good as our eyes and concentration have been drawn to the products and store finishes. It really is a fascinating part of the retail journey which I’m enjoying learning lots about.”
Janet’s role is to support everybody here at Shoplight and in particular, the directors of the business.
