Our growing biopolymer collection reflects our commitment to creating products that are kinder to the planet. Each biopolymer retail light you buy replaces aluminium equivalents, reducing the environmental impact of mined, smelted, and imported materials.

Circular Retail Lighting

Aluminium lighting often ends up in landfill owing to their powder coated finish and the time and complexity of stripping the parts down.

By contrast, our biopolymer products can be recycled, and reused, with the biopolymer material shredded and reformed up to 12 times.


 

Biopolymer — A Better Material

The biopolymer materials we use come from sugar cane, a productive and water-efficient plant. It is also land-efficient and mainly irrigated by natural rainfall. Like all plants, it captures CO2 during growth. Sugar cane is harvested, milled, and then split into sugar and ethanol, with its leftover pulp used as biofuel to power industries and cities.

When fermented the ethanol creates bioethanol, which forms the basis for the NonOilen and GreenTEC Pro biopolymers we use. Both conform to standards for biodegradability and compostability (EN13432 and EN14855). We use the best biopolymers currently available for 3D printing.

There is no cost barrier to entry and our biopolymers are easily returnable through Circu-light. This means the impact of our biopolymer range continues to grow.

Customisable and Upgradable

Our modular design approach means we take advantage of advancements in technology and our products always use the latest and most energy-efficient components. Instead of discarding lighting products to landfill at the first sign of a fault or after use, we help our clients repair, upgrade, reuse and recycle materials and products.

Furthermore, our 3D printed products are customisable, so they can fit existing hole sizes, which significantly reduces the cost and environmental damage of replacing ceiling tiles or redecorating. In addition, as our products are digital and do not require tooling, their appearance and textures can be infinitely adjusted.
